Consider the below report. Let say you would like to fill the background color with pink for amount values which are greater than 5000 and amounts less than 5000 you would like to make it red.

So right click on the amount text properties and click on  text box properties as shown in the below figure.

Now click on the fill tab and click on “fx” button which is seen in the below figure.

One you click on “fx” button you get the below code window. In that code window write the below “IIF” condition which is as shown in the below figure.

And now if you run the SSRS report the “IIF” formula will now be applied on the amount textbox.
